Dr Edna Pasher of Edna Pasher PhD & Associates Management Consulting, together with Dr Dominique Lepore and Niccolò Testi, PhD candidate, from the University of Macerata (Italy) presented the TRUST project at the Conference on Smart Cities 3.0, organized by the Association of Local Government Managers in collaboration with the Bar Ilan Center for Smart Cities in Tel Aviv on the 5th of April 2022. The presentation focused on the role that blockchain technology may have in smart cities to foster citizens’ engagement.
TRUST “digital TuRn in EUrope: Strengthening relational reliance through Technology” is a Horizon 2020 – MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) – RISE (Research and Innovation Staff Exchange) program aimed at understanding the role of trust in the implementation of blockchain technology and suggesting actual means of development. The project involves academic and non-academic partners from different countries (Israel, Italy, Belgium, Spain, France, China) with an interdisciplinary approach encompassing expertise in law, economics, and artificial intelligence.
With reference to smart cities, the TRUST project aims at investigating how and to what extent the use of BCT may improve both citizen’s participation in the life of the city and increase the efficient use of public resources and spaces. In particular, Edna Pasher PhD & Associates is involved in the research on how to foster citizens’ engagement and participation in public decisions, involving them as stakeholders in a Community of Communities for smart, trust-based cities.
